Justice League (2017)

After Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice there were changes specially on  the expectatives of the fans of what was forthcoming for the DC cinematic universe, after revealing with this movie that they were trying to imitate the strategy used by Marvel studios, which is based on the system used in comic books where you have your weekly short stories for each of the characters and then at the end of the month you can expect to read a special issue or story arc where all the individual characters get together; but this time is in the movies and the wait is longer.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, kept trying to bring that dark tone and slow paced thriller that the Dark Knight trilogy delivered in good shape, but never reached the same bar, at least for more of the critics. In our personal opinion Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it did feel slow paced and to get all the details you have to watch it a few times to get all the stuff that was happening. Still, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had a very interesting direction where it felt like we were watching a sequel to Man of steel and a new version of batman, it was like watching two movies in one, where at the end we could conclude with the main characters having a great final battle and a dramatic ending while leaving us in a cliff hanger.

After Dawn of Justice we had Wonder Woman as the summer hit, everyone was loving it but this time the movie was more simple, and directed to a wider audience who their only purpose was to have fun at a theater having some popcorn, so for these people it was a huge hit movie, we think because they were specting something dark and slow. In our opinion for Wonder Woman a more adventure, fun and action packed movie it delivers as it is just a fun movie which you can watch over and over again but it lacks of the mysticism or the fine interest in characters that can create a richier plot.

Which the huge succes of Wonder Woman, it looks like Justice League was cut or adapted to the tone that Wonder Woman had. A movie that it is only based on having fun, adventure and action. So in general Justice League is having mixed reviews and the "critics" are trying to blas it down saying that it is now a success.

So this is what we think of Justice League. It is dispointing that intriguing characters like Cyborg and Flash are reduced to a sole scene where they try to explain their entire life in one scene, also it is obvious how they tryed to please the audience by giving Wonder Woman a starring character compared with this two. The right thing to do with the movie was to give every Justice League member their own protagonism like Batman v Superman tried to do. Yes, if  you think it twice the movie would have been a mess but still it would have richier characters.

At the end a huge expected movie for its dimensions for having 5 (or six?) Justice League members, should have been epic, instead of dumbing it down into a beat 'em up action movie with sarcastic jokes. The expectatives for this movie where greater and now it was transformed into a simple action movie.

The people and the critics may be liking this new direction of the DC universe, but nobody is mentioning the thing that it was said back then when BVS came out, which is that it is wrong that Warner is still experimenting with their formula at this point and when they thought they found the secret formula for the succes of their movies it resulted is not, beause again, for Wonder Woman or for a single character movie it is ok, but for Justice League it should be at least more epic.

Justice League it is a fun movie but not remarkable, and now it is part of the new system of bringing movies that are fun at the movie theater but they are not for the ages.

The Captain gives this movie 3.5 stars of funkiness of 5
